Can our competitors provide you with a wind load certification from a Pennsylvania licensed professional structural engineer for patio/deck Awnings??? WE CAN!!! Our Awning frame structures and covers are constructed differently in many subtle ways in order to provide the greatest serviceability.
Maintain a formal “Buy American” materials purchasing policy.
WE DO!!! The Fabrics we offer are made in North & South Carolina. Our tubular goods are manufactured in Indiana and our fittings are made in Ohio. We look for American goods… even if they cost us a little more.
Have a formal Employee training, evaluation & advancement program.
WE DO!!! The number one complaint Customers have about home improvement contractors is scary looking unqualified workers who show up at their home in beat up old trucks that leak oil on their driveways and leave a mess. At Laurel Awning, all Installation Employees undergo a formal, detailed in-plant Awning installation & service training program conducted by Company Managers. In addition to proper installation techniques, trainees are taught how to conduct themselves appropriately around Customers and while at Customer homes. Our installation employees are required to wear uniform shirts & hats bearing our Company logo while at your premises so you may identify who is on your property.
Upon completion of this program, trainees become Helpers & are paired with Installers for at least one year of on-the-job experience before they are eligible to make application to be promoted to Installer. Further, in order to be promoted, a Helper must take and pass an extensive written & practical test as well as be accepted by a vote of the other Installers.
What’s more, we pay our employees a living wage with full benefits to work at jobs that can never be “exported” to other countries or to the “Sun Belt”. This makes working for Laurel Awning a very desirable job to pursue in our community. Consequently we are able to be fussy about who we hire!

Maintain a formal Manufacturing Quality Control Program.
WE DO!!! Each Awning Cover that is delivered is accompanied by a plastic envelope which contains an Awning Care Instruction sheet as well as a copy of the Quality Control Inspection Record prepared by our Cover Shop Foreman.
FOR SERVICE:
Can provide you with FULL SERVICE for your Awning(s).
WE CAN!!! In addition to winter storage and repairs, we are the only Awning Company in the Pittsburgh area that operates an automated wet professional awning deep cleaning and treatment department that utilizes factory approved chemicals. Other Awning Companies merely “brush” or vacuum surface debris from Awning covers.
Can provide you with an Insurance Certificate to assure you that your valuable Awning(s) are covered in case there is a fire while stored over the winter.
WE CAN!!! We maintain sufficient insurance coverage to replace any Awnings that might be damaged by fire while in our care and will be happy to supply you with a certificate from our insurance carrier upon request.
Assign you your own Customer Service Representative.
WE DO!!! By having your own CSR when you order new Awning(s), you have your own point of contact inside our Company who’s always available to answer any questions you might have, deal with any problems that might arise & make sure that your job is completed appropriately.
